We would love to say that opening The Massage Studio has been a long held dream for us but, as most wonderful things in life, it actually came about very serendipitously. We hadn’t spent years, months or even hours planning to open a business together, but when we were standing in front of the unattractive space that had been vacant for over a year - it was obvious we needed to create a place where we could incorporate our many years of individual experience and call it our own. In the beginning we would always refer to our endeavor as “the studio” so instead of trying to come up with something clever, it made sense to simply name it "The Massage Studio". Quickly, decisions were being made to bring The Massage Studio to life. To transform what was a boring office space with industrial carpet and drop ceilings, an expansive remodel went under way. We knew we wanted the studio to have a minimalist vibe, so we decided to go with a mid century style which stays true to the architecture of the shopping center built over the late 1950's and early 60's. The result is a soothing loft like space where we hope you feel relaxed as soon as you walk in the door.

I have been living in Sonoma for almost ten years and have been a Massage Therapist since 2001. I completed the Certified Advanced Bodyworker training at Diamond Light School of Massage and Healing Arts in Marin while living in San Francisco; and have been working as a full-time therapist ever since seeing private clients and working at high end spas including Raindance Spa at the Lodge at Sonoma and Sen Spa in San Francisco. The first spa I ever worked at was Skylonda in the Santa Cruz mountains and on my first day there I massaged Barbara Streisand - pretty cool! In addition to my original massage schooling I have completed numerous advanced trainings: MIM from the Academy of Intuition Medicine, Visionary Craniosacral Work, Pregnancy Massage, Reiki, and Hendrickson Method. My style is very therapeutic but also nurturing. I approach each session with the intention for healing on every level - mind, body and spirit. I truly believe that in our current world regular massage is not a luxury but a necessity in helping to manage stress and to stay healthy, happy, and pain free. I could not be more excited about serving Sonoma for many years to come at The Massage Studio!

While attending college in the late 90's, I decided to take a break and go to massage school. Never having had a massage, I certainly knew nothing about giving one. I did know that I loved the concept of massage and the science behind it. I enrolled at the Southern California School of Massage and Spa Services in Riverside California. After the first day of hands on instruction, I immediately knew that I had discovered something I was passionate about. Since then, my career path has been broad, encompassing many areas of the spa and massage industry including management and treatment development at some of the best spas in Sonoma County. Additional trainings I have completed include deep tissue, therapeutic sports massage, polarity/energy massage, reflexology, pre- and post-natal massage, kinesiology & anatomy to name the few. Allowing myself to work intuitively, I enjoy providing a curative massage-addressing specific problem areas a client might have, while at the same time, making room for a relaxing and restorative experience. I live in Sonoma with my family and take great pride in creating this beautiful place called The Massage Studio!
